Here is the next installment in our key supplier series. We have been working with Bill Vallis of Vallis Motor Sport (VMS) since 2010 – Bill’s work is unparalleled in race car preparation and track side support. We work with Vallis Motor Sport exclusively in preparing and supporting the #77 STANMECH Technologies, Good Cars Only, Gabo Solutions, Formula Mazda both on and off the track. Bill Vallis is a car guy that became fascinated with the VW Beetle as a teenager – Bill was destined to become an automobile mechanic. Bill apprenticed in a large shop that catered to the North America market. Bill become the foreign car expert specializing in VW’s. When he received his license there wasn’t room for another mechanic so he moved on. Fortunately, his next employer was a serious drag racer which provided Bill with a great learning opportunity. From there Bill opened his own shop working mainly on foreign cars, (VW’s) and eventually moved into 1200cc Formula Vee (FV) preparation. When the transformation to racing was complete, he renamed the business Vallis Motor Sport. In 1993, Bill bought the rights to be sole manufacturer of the 1200cc BRD Formula Vee, designed by mechanical engineer Brad Beunting who has since designed and built a Formula Ford 2000, worked with Formula 1 and Trans-Am teams. Beunting’s design criteria were simple; light but very rugged construction, good aerodynamics and handling. BRD’s will easily accommodate drivers that are over 6ft tall and more than 200 lbs. To date, VMS has produced 33 BRD’s, several of which sold in the US. VMS engines have won 15 National Championships, and compete successfully in races in both the US and Canada. At Formula 1200 Drivers Association (FTDA) races, more than half of the field are BRD’s. Besides being the acknowledged expert in FV, Bill has considerable experience with Formula Ford, Formula Continental, Formula Mazda, SCCA prototype race cars as well as Indy-Lites. Because of VMS, the FTDA is the only road racing group in Canada that has direct manufacture’s support at the track. Bill attends all FTDA races with advice, assistance, and spare parts. In addition to supplying FV race cars, FV engines, transaxles and other parts, Bill has an active FV arrive and drive program. Just show up with your drivers equipment, pay your entry fee and climb into your VMS prepared FV race car. Additionally, VMS provides full race shop service and support for most open wheel race cars. Contact Bill at (905) 384-0016 or via email at [email protected] for more information about VMS’s services, FV racing and how to become involved. Thank you Bill Vallis & Vallis Motor Sport for your fantastic support!!! |
